Moderator Resources

Resources for UDOLLI moderators and liaisons, including instructor portal access, seminar proposal information, training materials, and support for preparing and facilitating successful seminars.

Supporting successful UDOLLI seminars

UDOLLI seminars are made possible through the knowledge, preparation, and generosity of our moderators and volunteer liaisons. This page brings together the key tools and information needed to access the instructor portal, propose future seminars, prepare course materials, and participate in moderator or liaison training.

Whether you are a returning moderator, a first-time seminar leader, or a liaison supporting a class, these resources are designed to help you navigate the process clearly and confidently.

Moderator Resource Areas

Instructor Portal Access

Access your seminar details, class information, and course-related tools.

The instructor portal provides moderators with access to important seminar information. Use this area to review your assigned course details, confirm scheduling information, and access your class roster.

  • View assigned seminar information
  • Review class meeting details
  • Communicate with participants before the start of the term.

Seminar Proposals

Share your expertise by proposing a future UDOLLI seminar.

UDOLLI welcomes seminar proposals from individuals interested in leading engaging, non-credit learning experiences for adults 50 and older. Proposals should clearly describe the seminar topic, format, learning goals, and any scheduling or room needs.

  • Submit new seminar ideas for consideration
  • Provide seminar title, description, and preferred format
  • Identify moderator availability and technology needs
  • Help UDOLLI plan a balanced and engaging term schedule

Moderator and Liaison Training

Prepare for a successful seminar experience.

Moderator and liaison training helps ensure that seminars run smoothly and that participants feel welcomed, supported, and informed. Training materials may include expectations, classroom procedures, attendance guidance, technology reminders, and communication practices.

  • Review moderator expectations and seminar preparation tips
  • Understand liaison responsibilities before and during class
  • Prepare for attendance, communication, and classroom support
  • Access training dates, materials, and follow-up resources

Helpful Reminders for Moderators and Liaisons

Moderators and liaisons play a central role in the UDOLLI experience. The following reminders are intended to support smooth communication, consistent preparation, and a welcoming learning environment.

For Moderators

Please review your seminar details before the start of the term, communicate any schedule or technology needs as early as possible, and prepare materials in a format that is accessible and easy for participants to follow.

For Liaisons

Liaisons help welcome participants, support attendance tracking, assist with basic class needs, and communicate any concerns or questions to the UDOLLI office.
